Medicare, explained like a person is talking.
I am Lourdes Hernandez. I sit with you, look at what you have now, and go through your options in plain language. No jargon, no pressure, and no cost to talk.
Four steps, and you can stop at any of them.
Most people come to me with one question and leave with a plan they understand. Nothing below is binding, and none of it costs you anything.
You tell me what is going on
One phone call, usually fifteen minutes. What you have, what changed, what worries you. If it is easier to start with a question than a problem, that works just as well.
We look at what you have right now
Your card, your prescriptions, the doctors you want to keep seeing. I read it with you rather than at you, so you know exactly where you stand before anything changes.
I line up the options that fit
Medicare Advantage, Medigap, Part D, marketplace, life insurance, the supplement policies. I bring the comparison, you bring the priorities. Sometimes the right answer is that what you have is already right.
You decide, and I handle the rest
If you want to change something, I take care of the paperwork and the follow-up. If you do not, you leave with the same coverage and a clearer picture of it. Either way, you keep hearing from me.
Six kinds of coverage, one person to call.
Here is the full list, so you can see whether I am the right person before you pick up the phone.
Medicare plans
Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap) and Part D drug plans. I go through each one with you line by line, so you can see what you would pay and what is covered before you decide.
- Medicare Advantage
- Medigap / Supplement
- Part D prescription coverage
ACA and health plans
Marketplace plans for individuals and families. We weigh the monthly premium against the deductible and the network, then pick the mix that actually fits how you use care.
- Individual and family plans
- Premium and deductible review
- Doctor and network check
Life insurance
Term and permanent policies that keep your family steady if something happens to you. We look at what your household would need to cover, then choose the amount and the term to match.
- Term life
- Permanent life
- Coverage amount review
Supplemental coverage
Policies that pick up what your main plan leaves behind, including medical transport, hospital indemnity, accident and critical illness coverage.
- MASA medical transport
- Hospital indemnity
- Accident and critical illness
Senior education
I spend a lot of my time simply explaining how Medicare works. No pressure and no paperwork in the first conversation, just answers to the questions you have been carrying around.
- Plain-language explanations
- Family members welcome
- Available in Spanish
Annual plan review
Plans change every year and so does your health. Once a year we sit down, compare what you have to what is available, and change it if something fits you better.
- Yearly coverage check
- Prescription review
- Changes handled for you
I chose this work because I like teaching. Insurance only feels complicated until somebody explains it.
Lourdes Hernandez
I would rather explain something twice than have you guess.
I have spent my career around seniors and families who were handed a stack of plan summaries and told to choose. That is not a fair way to decide something this important. So I do it differently: we talk first, I answer what you ask, and you decide when you are ready.
I am licensed in Florida, New Jersey and North Carolina, and I work in English and Spanish. My clients are retirees on a fixed income, working families comparing marketplace plans, and grown children helping a parent sort out coverage. All three get the same plain answers.
- Licensed in three states. Florida, New Jersey and North Carolina, so you can keep me as your agent if you move between them.
- Free consultation. Talking with me costs nothing, and your premium stays the same whether you enrol with me or on your own.
- Yearly review. Plans change every year. We look at yours together and change it when something fits you better.
- You keep hearing from me. Questions in June matter as much as questions in December. I answer the phone.
You do not have to have the answers before you call.
Bring the letters, the phone numbers and the questions. I will bring the comparison.

- New Jersey Statewide by phone or video. Help with Medicare enrolment, Medigap comparisons and family health coverage, handled over the phone at whatever hour suits your schedule.
- North Carolina Statewide by phone or video. Plan reviews, prescription checks and life insurance for families and retirees across the state.
Straight answers first.
Does it cost anything to talk with you?
No. Meeting with me and going through your options is free. You pay the same premium whether you enrol through me or on your own, so there is no reason to sort through it by yourself.
What should I have ready for our first conversation?
Your current insurance card if you have one, a list of your prescriptions with the doses, and the names of the doctors you want to keep seeing. If you do not have all of that, we can still start. It just makes the first call more useful.
Which areas do you serve?
I am licensed in Florida, New Jersey and North Carolina. In Florida I work closely with clients in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. Most of my appointments happen by phone or video, and I can meet in person when it helps.
Do you only work with Medicare, or other coverage too?
Both. I help with Medicare, ACA marketplace health plans, life insurance and supplemental policies such as medical transport, hospital indemnity, accident and critical illness. If you are not sure what you need, that is a fine place to start.
Let us look at your options together.
One phone call is usually enough for me to tell you where you stand and what is worth changing. There is no cost and no obligation.
